Friona Construction Project

The City of Friona is scheduled to begin construction on October 22nd on a water improvement project through a grant provided by the Texas Department of Agriculture. Currently, the City has water lines that are undersized, resulting in insufficient water pressure and frequent maintenance issues. This project will install lines in order to provide adequate water pressure and prevent these maintenance issues in the future. This project will benefit 393 persons, of which 77% are of low-to moderate-income. Construction will continue for the next 25 weeks. Please see the attached map for the area effected by the construction. The completion date is scheduled for April 15, 2019. If anyone has any questions, they can contact the City’s Public Works Director, Salvador Garcia, at (806) 250-2761.
